Edmund
Edmund is a chap from the painted world of Wildago and co-star to a ravishing redhead named Pearl. The two never meet but sometimes appear in the same painting, a source of romantic speculation amongst collectors. Edmund was not blessed with classic good looks, having only one (well-groomed) springy sprig of hair on a head shaped like a rugby ball. He is in the habit of not wearing trousers, exposing bony knees and polka dot boxers to the world. What Edmund lacks in Hollywood glamour he makes up for in thoughtfulness. As the thoughtful 'thinker' Edmund reads poetry, conducts orchestras, films documentaries, meditates on a Monet haystack, and plays musical instruments. As the thoughtful 'carer' he rescues Todd the Dog from a recycling bin, delivers gifts, hangs bunting, serves drinks, cuddles Todd, and rides as an armoured knight on a trusty steed. Furthermore Edmund is an accomplished sportsman, equally at home on a tennis court, hiking trail, bicycle or golf course. He doesn't appear to have a mouth for speaking or smiling but one is still able to feel the enthusiasm Edmund brings to every scenario. If Pearl did make his acquaintance, it would be nearly impossible to resist his charms.
